Asbestos Job Sites in Utah

The State of Utah has the nickname of “The Beehive State” due to its hard-working residents and its profitable industries. Since its establishment, Utah has taken pride in having a productive workforce and has benefitted from the success of a wide range of industries found throughout the state. Utah’s pro-business culture is evident in the state’s motto of “industry” which is included on its state seal and flag. Unfortunately, as was the case for workers throughout the country, the diligent workers of Utah were exposed to asbestos at many job sites prior to the implementation of asbestos regulations. Since mesothelioma is strongly linked to asbestos exposure, workers who were exposed to asbestos are at risk of developing mesothelioma.

Although asbestos exposure can occur in a wide variety of settings, there are certain industries and occupations which were more likely to involve such exposure. Work sites such as mines, smelters, refineries and power plants have been known to have a history of asbestos exposure. With Utah’s history of large mining operations, smelters, and refineries, as well as other facilities with known asbestos exposures, many workers employed in such settings may have been exposed to asbestos at those sites.

If you are concerned that you or a loved one may have been exposed to asbestos, the following list of Utah job sites with known asbestos exposure may be useful. Click on the facility name to learn more about that particular facility.
