Attorney Jeffrey O’Connell has devoted his entire legal career to helping people with diseases caused by toxic substances, including asbestos, and is an important part of the Nemeroff Law Firm’s national toxic tort practice. Jeff is an integral part of the litigation team that handles discovery and prepares these complex cases for trial, a role that calls heavily on his great patience and unyielding persistence.

In addition to his work on active cases, Jeff also takes pride in being a “first responder” when people contact Nemeroff Law Firm and wish to consult with an experienced attorney regarding their claims, injuries or illnesses. Because of his long-time experience in asbestos cases and his familiarity with every stage of the litigation, he is well prepared to speak with new clients, articulately answering their questions and explaining the legal process. Jeff is especially skilled at breaking down the stages of a lawsuit, making sure that the client understands what to expect. He understands his clients’ need to minimize the time and energy they put into the process so that they can focus on their loved ones and medical needs.

“I became a lawyer because I wanted to assist seriously harmed people get through the complexities of the legal system and receive the compensation—the justice really—that they deserve,” Jeff says. “I’m delighted to be a part of the Nemeroff team because the firm has the deep resources to truly help people who need a champion when they are fighting the biggest battle of their lives.”

When Jeff is not working on behalf of his clients, he enjoys spending a great deal of time with his wife and young son, with all three family members being involved in the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas. “It has always been important for me to a positive guiding aspect in people’s lives, whether it be assisting our ill clients or teaching and helping those who may not have the advantages in life we sometimes take for granted.”
