What Research Shows About Oil Refinery Workers and Mesothelioma

A CDC study analyzing mesothelioma mortality across more than 200 U.S. industries found that petroleum refining ranked second highest, with a proportionate mortality ratio of 4.1. This means refinery workers died of mesothelioma at more than four times the expected rate.
