Detail
For a good part of the refinery’s early history, Utah Oil Refining Company (later Utah Oil Company), operated the facility. Over time, the refinery changed names several times. A subsidiary of Standard Oil Company of Indiana (“Standard Oil”), the Utah Oil Company changed its name to Utoco in the 1940s. In the early 1960s, the Utah Oil Company was officially absorbed by Standard Oil, which had changed its name to the American Oil Company (Amoco). In 2001, Tesoro bought the refinery and continues to operate the refinery.
